Since our last update in 2019, Tavaris Jones Dancer has continued to soar to even greater heights in the world of dance. With over a decade as a principal dancer with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, he has solidified his status as a living legend in the dance community.
In 2021, Jones made history once again by becoming the first African-American male dancer to be appointed Artistic Director of the Ailey company. This groundbreaking achievement marked a significant milestone in the pursuit of diversity and inclusion in the dance world.
Jones’ choreography has also garnered widespread acclaim. His works, known for their emotional depth and technical brilliance, have been performed by prestigious companies worldwide, including the Paris Opera Ballet and the Royal Ballet.
