Theo Spielberg, an American musician, is widely recognized for his role as the guitarist, pianist, and backup vocalist in the indie folk duo Wardell. He and his sister Sasha Spielberg established the band in 2010, and their debut single “Opossum” brought them national attention in 2011. Their music has been influenced by various artists, including The Strokes, Christina Aguilera, and Janis Joplin. Besides his musical career, Theo is also known as the adopted son of renowned film director Steven Spielberg and actress Kate Capshaw. The duo named their band Wardell, which is both Theo’s middle name and their mother’s nickname. Their debut single, “Opossum,” was featured as NPR’s Song of the Day in 2011.
