Tom Davis, an American comedian, writer, and actor, was best known for his contributions to the sketch comedy show “Saturday Night Live” as part of the writing duo “Franken and Davis.” Born in Minnesota, he collaborated with fellow comedian Al Franken, and together they wrote several books, performed comedy tours, and were involved in the creation and writing of “The Blues Brothers” and “Coneheads.” Davis continued to perform and write comedy until his death in 2012. He also had a small role in Prince’s film “Under the Cherry Moon” and appeared in the music video for “Raspberry Beret.” Notably, there is another Tom Davis, a British actor and comedian, who is best known for his role as DI Sleet in the BBC Three comedy “Murder in Successville.”
