Vic Damone, born Vito Rocco Farinola on June 12, 1928, was an American singer and actor known for his work in traditional pop and big band music. He gained fame for his performances of songs such as the number one hit “You’re Breaking My Heart,” as well as other popular tunes like “On the Street Where You Live” (from My Fair Lady) and “I Have But One Heart.” Additionally, Damone performed the title song for the film “An Affair to Remember.” Throughout his career, he hosted variety shows, made occasional appearances in movies, and found success in radio and television. Damone passed away in Florida on February 11, 2018, at the age of 89.
