Ronald “Winky” Wright, a renowned retired professional boxer, had an illustrious career spanning from 1989 to 2012. He is regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time, having participated in numerous fights. In 1994, Wright faced WBA light-middleweight champion Julio César Vásquez for his first title shot. Despite losing this match, he went on to achieve remarkable victories, such as defeating Bronco McKart in 1996 to secure the WBO Junior Middleweight Championship. Wright further solidified his status among boxing’s elite by winning a rematch against Shane Mosley in 2004. His impressive accomplishments earned him a well-deserved induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2023.
