Xuxa, a Brazilian singer, actress, dancer, and television presenter, gained prominence in the 1980s and 1990s as the host of the popular children’s TV show, Xou da Xuxa. As the show’s host, she became a Latinx icon and expanded her career to other countries. In addition to her television success, Xuxa has released numerous hit music albums and appeared in various films, such as Xuxa e os Duendes and Xuxa Requebra. As a philanthropist, she has supported multiple charitable causes throughout her career. Xuxa holds the Guinness World Record for the “Most Successful Children’s Television Presenter,” with over 50 million copies of her children’s albums sold and the highest-rated children’s program in Brazilian television history. Some of her other notable works include Xou da Xuxa Park, XSPB 11, and XSPB 12.
An interesting aspect of Xuxa’s career is that she began in 1983 as the host of a children’s program called Clube da Criança on Rede Manchete while simultaneously working as a model in New York City.
